Foxey’s Hangout, ‘White Fox, Bianco’ 2009. Mornington Peninsula. Retail: $20 Members: $18.00
Great addition to the range from the Lee brothers. Predominantly Vermentino with additions of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio, it displays a quite textural mouth feel with tropical fruit flavours matching well with hints of grapefruit and citrus. Crisp and fresh finish, delightful on its own or try with chicken and basil salad.
Mt Langi, ‘Cliff Edge’ Shiraz 2008. Grampians. Retail: $30 Members: $27
Now produced entirely from estate fruit, it definitely lives up to its nickname of baby Langi. Aromatic nose of fresh, juicy raspberries leads to flavours of black cherry, mulberry, currant and a slight touch of white pepper. Use of elegant oak, fine tannin and the smooth finish will always draw you back for another glass.
Plunkett Fowles, ‘490m’ Frizzante 2011. Victoria. Retail: $17 Members: $15.30
Produced in a Moscato style, this is a lovely example of an everyday, easy drinking, sweeter style of wine. Plenty of fresh fizz upon opening with fantastic musky aromas, flavours of apricot, rosehip and Turkish delight all shining. A great lazy afternoon drink, but has enough acidity to drink with dessert.
